Jay Engg. Works

You can find Jay Engg. Works over at 422 in the Sidco Industrial Estate in Ambattur. We have been here for a long time now. Ambattur is a busy place for anyone in the engineering line, and we fit right in. Our workshop is pretty much what you would expect from a local engineering place. There are tools everywhere and the smell of oil is pretty much permanent. We do a lot of job work for various clients, mostly turning and machining stuff. It’s not the kind of job where you wear a suit. We are usually in greasy overalls by ten in the morning. The team is small, just a few local guys who know their way around a gearbox and a lathe. We don’t have a website or a sales team. People just know where we are and bring their work to us. Sometimes the power goes out in the estate and we have to wait it out, which is just how it goes here. We try to keep the machines running as much as possible to keep up with the orders. The building itself has seen better days, but the equipment inside is well-maintained because that’s what actually matters for the work. We take pride in just getting the dimensions right. If a part isn't perfect, we do it again. It’s a simple way to run a business but it works for us. We've been part of the Ambattur community for decades.
