Isgec John Thompson

Our office is over at No: 25, Grace Building, sitting on the first floor. We are located on Mc Nichols Road in Chetpet. If you know Chennai, you know how busy the roads in Chetpet can get during the middle of the day. Isgec John Thompson has been operating out of this space for some time now. The Grace Building is an older structure, but it’s got its own character and it’s right in the middle of everything. We do a lot of engineering work here, focusing on things like boilers and big industrial equipment. It’s mostly desks, computers, and a lot of paper drawings spread out on the tables. The street outside is always noisy with car horns and people walking to the train station nearby. We don’t have a flashy showroom or anything like that to show off. It’s just an office where the engineers and the staff sit and work through all the technical details. Sometimes the humidity in Chennai makes the office feel a bit heavy in the afternoons, but we have the fans going. It’s a professional spot but it’s not stiff or corporate. We know the neighbors and the little shops around Mc Nichols Road pretty well. People come in and out for meetings, and we usually have tea brought in from the stall around the corner. We’ve been part of the Chetpet landscape for years, and we just keep doing our engineering work from this first-floor office.
