We are over on Mukarram Masjid Road in Bhuvaneshwari Nagar. Our place is number 52 on the 3rd Main. Being in this part of Bangalore means there is always something going on outside. There is a lot of noise from the bikes and the shops nearby. Inside, we try to keep things as calm as possible. We have several rows of desks where we manage the bank’s business. We don’t have any fancy art on the walls or designer carpets. The floor is just plain tile that we try to keep clean. Most of the people who come in are local shopkeepers or residents from the surrounding streets. We help them with their deposits and sometimes explain why a transaction didn’t go through. It’s a lot of practical, day-to-day work. The power goes out once in a while, and we have to wait for the generator to kick in so we can get back to our screens. We use simple English and don't try to impress anyone with big talk. It’s just a group of people working hard in a busy neighborhood. By the time we leave in the evening, the street is even more crowded with people going home. We lock the doors, turn off the lights, and do it all again the next morning. It’s a steady routine that we’ve grown quite used to over the years.
