You can find us at 169, Chowdhury Nagar, over on 15th Street in Valasaravakkam. It’s a residential-looking area mostly, so people are often surprised to find an engineering outfit tucked away here. We’ve been in this building for several years. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, and the air conditioner in the main room makes a weird rattling noise, but it keeps us cool enough. At Indotec Engineering Pvt. Ltd., we spend a lot of time looking at technical drawings and spreadsheets. It’s not exactly exciting to talk about, but it’s what pays the bills. There are about six of us in the office regularly. The street outside is narrow, so parking is always a bit of a headache if you have a big car. We usually eat lunch together at our desks or go to the small place around the corner if the weather isn't too hot. Sometimes the power fluctuates and we have to wait for the backup to kick in, which gives us a few minutes to stretch our legs. There's always a pile of blueprints in the corner that we haven't sorted through yet. We don't have a receptionist, so whoever is closest to the door usually handles whoever walks in. It’s a bit informal, but we get the calculations right, and that’s the part that actually matters to the people we work with.
