I. S. Rainu Engg. Works

We’ve been over here at A-31 in Anand Nagar for a while now. The shop is right in the Midc part of Ambernath, which is easy to find if you know the area. Most days you’ll find us busy with various engineering tasks. It’s loud and there is usually grease on the floor, but that is just how a machine shop works. My father started things and we just kept it going. We handle a lot of metal work and fixing parts that people bring in from other factories nearby. It is not a fancy place by any means. There are piles of scrap in the corner and tools everywhere. We use old lathes and some newer gear too. Sometimes the power goes out in the industrial area and we have to wait it out. That is just life here in Ambernath. People know us because we’ve been at this address for years. If you walk past the gate, you’ll hear the sound of cutting and grinding. We don't spend much time on the computer or making things look pretty. It's about getting the metal shaped right. The air smells like oil and burnt iron most of the time. We just open up in the morning, do the jobs on the list, and close up when the light fades. It’s simple work but it keeps the local industries moving. We don't have a big office staff, just a few of us who know how to handle the machines.
