If you’re looking for Hpiindia, you have to head into Vadapalani. We’re located at No 9, Door number 2, in the Vadapalani Villa area on Kumaran Colony 8th Street. Chennai can be incredibly loud and humid, but this little pocket of the colony is actually somewhat peaceful compared to the main junction. The office is basically a villa, so it has that old-school Chennai feel with tiled floors and high ceilings. It’s not a fancy glass-and-steel building, and that suits us just fine. We have a lot of paperwork and equipment scattered around the rooms. The street outside is narrow, so parking a car is almost impossible, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. Most of us come in on scooters anyway. On rainy days, the water can pool a bit on the street, but we’ve managed to stay dry so far. We spend our days dealing with various technical things and coordination. It’s the kind of place where you know the neighbors and the guy who sells tea at the corner. We aren't trying to impress anyone with the decor; we just want to get the work done and get home before the evening traffic gets too crazy. It’s a very local way of doing things, and it works for us. We’ve been here a while and don't plan on moving anytime soon.
