Our office is tucked away at Old No 1 17, which is now New No 6 on Nancy Street. If you know Purasaiwalkam, you know it can be a bit of a maze with all the small streets and old buildings. Hofincons Infotech Industrial Services Pvt Ltd has been operating out of this spot for some time. The building itself shows its age, but it’s sturdy. We’ve got desks pushed up against the walls and plenty of wiring running along the floor for the machines. It isn't a showroom or anything like that. It’s just where the work happens. Nancy Street has its own rhythm, with neighbors shouting hello and delivery bikes occasionally blocking the way. We mostly stay focused on the industrial side of things, keeping track of service schedules and technical data. Sometimes the power flickers, but we’re used to it. The air is always a bit heavy with the city smell, but inside we just focus on the job. We don’t have a big reception area or fancy coffee machines. We just have a kettle and some biscuits in the drawer. It’s a humble place to run a business like Hofincons, but it works for us. We like being in a part of Chennai that feels lived-in. It makes the day feel more real when you're working in a regular neighborhood instead of some glass tower. We stay until the work is done and then lock up for the night.
