We’ve been at 533 Mount Road in Teynampet for quite some time now. Most people know the area because it's always crowded with traffic. We try to keep things simple inside the shop. It's not fancy. My uncle started this place and now I'm here most days. We have different items stacked up, sometimes it gets a bit dusty but we know where everything is. People stop by on their way home from work because the bus stop isn't far. It gets loud with the horns outside. We don't have a big team, just a few of us. We spend a lot of our time organizing the stock or talking to the regulars who come in just to say hello. Sometimes the AC acts up in the summer, which is typical for Chennai heat. We don't do much advertising. Usually, someone just sees the sign while they're stuck in a jam on Mount Road. If you're looking for us, look for the old building near the corner. We aren't trying to be the biggest place around, just trying to keep the doors open and things moving. It’s a bit cramped in the back where we keep the extra stuff, but it works for us. We've seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years, new buildings going up while we stay in the same spot. It’s just us doing our thing in Teynampet and we hope to stay here for a while longer.
