Have Recently Relinquished My Board Position

After years of sitting in long meetings and dealing with corporate politics, I decided to step down from my board position and start something smaller here in Chennai. The office is located at 2 3 Gandhi Street in T-Nagar, which is one of the busiest parts of the city. It’s a big change from the quiet executive offices I used to occupy. Now, I spend my time dealing with the daily realities of running a local operation. T-Nagar is full of energy, with all the shops and the people moving around constantly. Our space isn't huge, but it's enough for what we are doing now. I like being on Gandhi Street because it feels grounded. There’s a tea stall nearby that I visit twice a day for a break. The office itself has a few bookshelves and a desk that’s usually covered in maps and notes. I don't miss the pressure of the board meetings at all. Here, if something goes wrong, I just fix it myself without having to wait for a committee to vote. It’s a very different way of working, and I’m still getting used to the humidity and the noise of the street traffic outside. But being my own boss in a place like Chennai 17 feels right for this stage of my life. I just open the doors and see what needs doing next.
