Guru Prints

Guru Prints is located at 90A, 2Nd Main Road, Srinivasa Nagar, over in Kolathur. It’s a small place, but we make it work. Most of our day is spent standing at the machines or sitting at the small desk near the window. The 2nd Main Road gets its fair share of people, so we often have folks poking their heads in to see if we're open. We don’t have a big sign or anything flashy, just the name on the front. Inside, it’s mostly just the tools of the trade. We’ve got a couple of heavy printers that take up most of the floor space. Kolathur is a neighborhood where people still appreciate getting things done in person, so we talk to a lot of our customers face-to-face. There is always a rhythm to the work, the humming of the fans and the way the paper slides out onto the tray. Sometimes we run out of a specific cardstock and have to wait for the delivery guy, which slows things down, but that’s part of the job. We try to keep the place organized, though with all the scraps and offcuts, it’s a constant battle. It is a simple life here in Srinivasa Nagar, just keeping the equipment running and making sure the text on the page looks clear enough for whoever needs it. We usually close up when the streetlights come on and do it all again the next day.
