Global Timber

Global Timber is located at 17, Kaveri Salai. This is in the Gandhi Nagar area of Kodungaiyur. We deal with wood all day, so the smell of sawdust is pretty much everywhere here. Kaveri Salai is a decent road, but it can get congested when the big trucks come in to drop off the timber. We have a yard where we keep the stock. It is a lot of heavy lifting. Gandhi Nagar is a residential and commercial mix, so we have neighbors who have lived here for decades. They are used to the sound of the saws by now. Our office is just a small room at the front of the property. It is mostly filled with logs and paperwork. We don't have air conditioning, just a couple of ceiling fans that hum all day long. In the rainy season, we have to be careful about the wood getting wet. We spend a lot of time moving things under the covers. It is hard work, but it is what we know. People come to us because they know we have been at this spot in Kodungaiyur for a long time. We don't do much advertising. Most people just see the stacks of wood from the street and walk in. We keep things straightforward. If we have it, we tell you. If we don't, we tell you that too. That is how we run Global Timber. We are just here doing our thing day after day.
