Global Placement Centre

Our office is located right in the E.S.I.C Quarters in KK Nagar. Chennai is always busy, but this part of town has its own rhythm. We spend most of our time looking at files and talking to people who are looking for jobs. It is not an easy job because everyone has different needs, but we try to keep it organized. The room we work in is quite basic. We have some old fans that keep the air moving during the humid afternoons. Being in No:D 1/4 means we are part of the local community here. We see the same neighbors every morning when we open up. Sometimes it gets crowded when several people show up at once. We don't have a big waiting room, so people just stand or find a chair where they can. It is a very hands-on kind of place. We write things down, make calls, and try to match people with what they are looking for. It’s honest work. We don’t use any complicated systems, just folders and a lot of talking. The quarters are a bit older, which gives the place a lived-in feel. We like it that way. It makes people feel more comfortable when they come in to talk about their future. It's just a regular day-to-day operation in the heart of Chennai.
