Gee Yes Tube Co. is based at N:665/1 on T.H. Road in Tondiarpet. This part of Chennai is always moving, and T.H. Road is one of those places that never seems to be quiet. We are in the business of tubes, so our space is filled with long metal cylinders of all different diameters. Moving them around is a two-person job most of the time. The air here is salty because we are not too far from the coast, which means we have to be careful about how we store the metal so it doesn't get ruined. The shop is more of a warehouse than anything else. We don't have a big storefront with windows, just a large entrance where the trucks can pull up to load. It is hot and sweaty work, and the traffic noise from T.H. Road can be a real headache some days. We just focus on getting the orders ready and making sure we have enough stock on hand. Most of our days are spent checking measurements and loading up vehicles. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. We’ve been in Tondiarpet for a while now, so we are used to the pace of this area. It’s just a regular day of heavy lifting and keeping track of inventory for us. Sometimes the humidity makes everything feel twice as heavy.
