Ganesh Furniture Makers

We are located at 551/27A on Ponnamalle High Road, right in the Arumbakkam area. If you’ve ever been by here, you know how the traffic is—it’s constant. At Ganesh Furniture Makers, we’re usually surrounded by the smell of wood and the sound of tools going. It’s not a quiet job, but we like it that way. Our workshop is where we spend almost all our time. We’ve got wood stacked up in the corners and sawdust that seems to get on everything no matter how much we sweep. It’s a real working space, not a showroom where you have to worry about where you step. We started here because the location was good for getting materials in and out, even if the road is a nightmare sometimes. People stop by to ask about having something made or fixed, and we just talk to them plainly about what we can do. There’s no sales pitch here. We just show them what we’re working on at the moment. Arumbakkam has changed over the years, but our little corner on the high road stays pretty much the same. We have a few guys who have been with us for years, and we all just get on with the work. It’s a bit dusty and loud, but it’s our living. We’re just regular people making things with our hands every day, trying to do it right.
