Freeze Engineers

Being right behind the Porur police station makes it easy for people to find us. We are on Pillaiyar Koil Street in the New Colony area. It is a busy little spot in Porur. Our shop, number 5, is usually filled with old fridge parts, compressors, and copper tubing. You can usually find one of us hunched over a unit trying to find a leak or fixing a motor. The street outside is always moving with people going to the temple or the station. Sometimes it gets a bit cramped inside because we have so many units waiting to be looked at. We don't have a big sign or anything, just the work we do. In the afternoons, the sun hits the front of the shop and it gets quite warm, so we keep the fans going full speed. Most of the guys here have been working with cooling systems for years, so we have a lot of old tools that look worn out but still work fine. We don't spend money on fancy decorations for the walls. We just have shelves full of spare parts and gas cylinders. It’s a simple setup. Usually, we spend our mornings planning the site visits and the rest of the day is just hands-on work. It’s noisy with the traffic and the sound of drills, but that is just the way the neighborhood is. We just try to get through the pile of work every day without too much fuss.
