Freelancer

I’m K Kumar, and I run Freelancer out of 11 Selvi Nagar, 2nd Street in Kolathur. It’s a quiet residential street in Chennai, and my office is just a small part of the building here. I’ve been in this neighborhood for a long time, so I decided to keep my work close to home. The setup is very basic. I have a desk, a couple of shelves for my books and papers, and a chair that I’ve had for years. It’s not a place where you’ll find fancy decorations or a big sign outside. It’s just a room where I get my work done. I mostly work alone, though every now and then a friend helps me with some of the more technical stuff. I like the independence of being a freelancer. I don't have to follow any strict corporate rules or wear a tie. I just do the work that comes my way and try to be fair with everyone. The street outside can get a bit noisy when the school nearby lets out, but otherwise, it’s a peaceful place to think. I’m not trying to build an empire or anything like that. I just want to do a good day’s work and then spend time with my family. It’s a simple, honest life here in Kolathur. Most days are the same, but that’s how I like it. No big surprises or complications.
