Freelancer

We are located on the first floor of the Bala Abirami Primera building. It’s at 19 3rd Avenue in Indra Nagar, right in the Adyar area of Chennai. Being in Adyar is nice because it’s a leafy part of town and not as chaotic as the city center. The office is small, just a few desks and some chairs we bought second-hand. I started Freelancer because I wanted a place where I could work on my own terms without someone looking over my shoulder. It’s a simple space. We have a small pantry where we make tea, and the balcony overlooks the avenue. It’s a good spot to take a break when the work gets a bit much. Most of the people who work here are just local folks I’ve known for a while. We don't have a big marketing department or anyone to answer the phones with a script. If you call, you just get one of us. We spend our time working through the tasks we have for the day. Sometimes we stay late if a project is dragging on, but mostly we try to keep regular hours. It’s a practical, no-nonsense kind of place. We just focus on the work and try to keep things moving along without making a big deal out of it. The traffic on 3rd Avenue can be loud, but you get used to it after a week or two.
