We are located right on Vepery High Road, at number 53/26. If you know the area, you know how loud it gets with all the honking and the street vendors nearby. Faizan Shoes Pvt Ltd has been operating out of this spot for years. The shop floor is usually covered in scraps of leather and rubber shavings because that’s just the nature of what we do here. We make shoes, mostly the sturdy kind that people need for everyday wear. It’s a bit dusty, and the smell of industrial glue is something that stays in your clothes even after you go home. We’ve got a small team, just a handful of us who’ve known each other forever. Most mornings start with a quick chat about the previous night’s cricket match while we wait for the machines to warm up. The lighting isn't the best in the back, so we use these old desk lamps to see the stitching clearly. It’s honest work, even if our hands are always stained with black or brown polish. We don’t have a big reception area or anything like that. If someone stops by, they usually just pull up a plastic stool near the main desk. It gets hot in the summer months, and we keep the doors open to catch whatever breeze comes off the road, even if it brings in the exhaust fumes. It’s just how things are run around here.
