Our shop is at No. 9 in Chinna Koladi, which is over in the Thiruverkadu area. At Siva Shoes Components, we basically spend our days working with all the different bits and pieces that go into making footwear. It’s not the most glamorous job in the world, but it is necessary work. The area around Thiruverkadu is quite industrial and busy, with a lot of small shops like ours tucked away in the side streets. We have a lot of materials stacked up against the walls, so the space feels a bit small sometimes. There isn't any air conditioning or fancy lighting here, just the basic stuff we need to get the work done. The people working here have been doing this for a long time, so they know the materials inside and out. We don't really do much in the way of advertising. Usually, the shoe manufacturers just know where to find us when they need specific components. We just try to keep the quality consistent so they keep coming back. It’s a lot of manual work and checking the stock. Sometimes the dust from the materials gets everywhere, but that’s just part of the trade. If you’re looking for us, Chinna Koladi is the place, and look for the number 9 on the door. We’re usually busy with orders, but we always have time for a quick chat with anyone who stops by. We just do our work and keep things moving.
