Elshaddai Engineering

Out here in the Tass Industrial Estate in Ambattur, things are always moving. Elshaddai Engineering is at 57/3, and if you come by, you’ll hear the lathes and drills going from early morning. It’s an industrial area, so there’s always a bit of oil on the floor and the smell of cooling fluid in the air. We aren't a big corporation; we are just a specialized engineering workshop. The walls are lined with wrenches and various metal-working tools. It gets pretty loud when we are in the middle of a big job, so we mostly communicate with nods or shouting over the machinery. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting room with magazines. If someone comes to see us, they usually just walk into the shop and find us by the machines. It’s hard work, and the heat in Ambattur can be quite punishing during the summer months. We keep a big cooler of water in the corner and take breaks when we can. Our focus is just on getting the metal cut and shaped the way it needs to be. Sometimes we stay late to finish up an urgent project, and the whole estate feels quiet except for our shop. It’s a gritty, honest way to make a living. We don't worry about sounding professional; we just worry about whether the measurements are right and the machines are running smooth. The concrete floor is cracked but it holds up the heavy gear just fine.
