Electronic Basics

Electronic Basics is run by C. Karthikeyan and A. Sankaranarayanan over on S. P. S First Street in Royapettah. The address is 74/52, right in the heart of Chennai. It’s one of those older streets where everyone knows each other. The shop itself is small and packed to the rafters with basic components and tools. We don't have much room for people to stand around. Most of the time, the counter is covered in parts we are sorting through. Chennai heat can get pretty bad, so we usually have a small fan blowing right on us while we work. It’s a busy neighborhood, and there is always something going on outside the door. We have been in Royapettah for years. People know to come here when they need something specific for their projects. We aren't fancy and we don't use a lot of big words. It’s just about getting the electronics right. Sometimes the deliveries arrive late and we have to shuffle things around to make space. It’s a bit of a mess, but we know where everything is. You can find us easily enough if you know the first street. Just look for the door with the old wooden frame. We are usually inside from morning until the evening, just keeping things moving along. Sometimes we stop for a coffee from the stall down the road to stay awake during the slow hours.
