E L Shaddai Engineering

You can find E L Shaddai Engineering over at 52-C in the Sidco Industrial Estate. It’s one of those places where everyone is busy doing something with their hands. We’ve got a shop floor filled with tools and metal bits. Engineering is a bit of a messy business sometimes, with oil and metal shavings everywhere, but we try to sweep up at the end of the day. We’ve been at this spot for several years now. The roof leaks a tiny bit when it rains really hard, but we know where to put the buckets. We don't spend money on fancy signs or glossy papers. Our work is what it is when someone gets a part that actually fits. We deal with a lot of local repairs and special jobs. People come to us when they can't find what they need anywhere else. It’s a lot of measuring and cutting and welding. The tea break at 11 is the highlight of the morning. We sit around on crates and talk about whatever is in the news. It’s a good team. We don’t always agree on how to fix a machine, but we figure it out in the end. Sidco is a busy place, and we fit right in with the rest of the workshops. It’s nothing glamorous, just work done by people who know how to use a wrench. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a weld or wait for a part to cool down. It’s not a nine-to-five kind of place most of the time. We just stay until the job is done.
