Die Mech Engineers

Die Mech Engineers is located at 33, Vallalar Street. We are over in Jegadambigai Nagar in the Padi area. It’s a bit of an industrial pocket, so there are a lot of small workshops and factories around us. Our building is a simple one-story structure. You can usually hear the sound of metal being worked on from a block away. Inside, it’s quite industrial. We have machines taking up most of the floor space, and there’s always a thin layer of oil on things. It’s just the nature of the work. We don’t have a fancy waiting room or anything like that. If someone comes by, they usually just talk to us right there on the shop floor. It gets pretty loud during the day, so we have to yell sometimes to be heard over the equipment. Padi is a busy place, especially with all the manufacturing going on. Vallalar Street is tucked away a bit, which is good because we don't get too much through traffic. We’ve been here for a good number of years. Most of the guys here have been working together for a long time, so we have a rhythm. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we know how to do. We just come in, get our hands dirty, and make sure the engineering parts are right. Usually, we keep the main shutters half-down in the afternoon to keep the heat out while we finish up the daily production.
