Devadarshini Engineers is based in Madipakkam. We aren't a massive firm with a skyscraper office; we’re just a local engineering outfit working on various projects around Chennai. Madipakkam has changed a lot over the years, but we’ve stayed focused on the technical side of things. Most of our day is spent looking at plans or visiting sites to see how the work is progressing. It’s a lot of practical problem-solving. If something doesn't fit or a design isn't working on the ground, we have to find a way to fix it right then and there. It can be quite dusty work, especially with all the construction going on in this part of the city. We don't go in for fancy presentations. We prefer to just show people what we can do with our hands and our tools. Sometimes we’re in the office doing calculations, and other times we’re out in the sun making sure the foundations are right. It’s a decent mix. We’ve built up a bit of a reputation around here just by being around and doing the work. It’s not always easy, especially with the Chennai heat and the traffic getting from one spot to another, but it keeps us on our toes. We just try to do a solid job on every project that comes our way, whether it’s a small repair or something bigger. It’s just how we operate, staying busy with the basics and keeping things moving.
