Desi Crafts

Desi Crafts is located in Thiruvalluvar Nagar in Thiruvanmiyur. It’s a nice area, and we’ve been here for a long time. Our workshop is where we spend most of our time. We make various traditional items and crafts. It’s not a big factory, just a small place with a few wooden benches and shelves full of materials. There’s always a bit of a mess because of the work we do, but we try to keep it organized enough to find our tools. We don’t have a fancy showroom for customers. Most of our stuff is packed in boxes or sitting on the tables waiting to be finished up. People from the neighborhood sometimes drop in to see what’s new or to just say hello. We don’t do any big advertising or have a social media person. We just make things and hope people like them. Sometimes the rain makes the street a bit muddy, but we’re used to that. We have a small group of people working here who really know their craft well. We aren't interested in being a giant corporation. We just like making things by hand and staying in our local community. It’s a quiet way to live and work. We just keep doing our thing every day. No one is in a huge rush, but we always get the work finished eventually.
