Teak Heirlooms

You can find us at New No 19, which used to be Old No 3. It's just off Kothari Road on the first cross street of Sterling Road. Nungambakkam is a busy part of town, but our little corner is a bit quieter. At Teak Heirlooms, we spend most of our time surrounded by old wood and the smell of polish. It’s a dusty job, to be honest. We take old pieces of furniture and try to make them look good again, or we make new things that look like they’ve been around forever. We don't have a big marketing team or a fancy website. It’s just a few of us who know our way around a piece of teak. Sometimes a customer brings in something their grandmother owned, and it's falling apart. We do what we can. The shop is a bit cluttered. There are stacks of wood in the back and half-finished chairs near the front. We like it that way. It feels like a real workshop. People stop by just to look sometimes, and that's fine. We aren't pushy. If you like something, you like it. The street outside can get packed with traffic, especially in the evenings, but inside it's just the sound of sanding and maybe a radio playing in the background. We’ve been here long enough that we know most of the people on the block. It’s a good way to spend a day.
