D Creations

D Creations is over at No. 1886 in the TNHB area of Avadi. It’s a quiet enough part of town, which is good for the kind of creative work we do here. The shop is filled with all sorts of things we’ve made over the months. It’s not a big space, so we have to be careful not to trip over the boxes of supplies we keep near the door. We don't have a big sign or a fancy storefront. Most people just know us as the place in the housing board where things get made. I started this business because I wanted to do something with my hands instead of sitting in an office all day. My neighbors often stop by to see what new things are on the shelves. We don't have a mission statement or a ten-year plan. We just show up every morning, open the shutters, and start working on whatever project is next on the list. Sometimes a project doesn't turn out exactly how we planned, so we have to start over. That’s just how it goes when you’re making things. We use simple tools and a lot of patience. It’s a slow process sometimes, but we aren't in a rush to become some huge company. We like being a small part of Avadi and seeing our creations end up in people's homes nearby.
