Catering

Our small place is over in Aminjikarai, on Jayammal Street in A N Colony. It’s a typical Chennai neighborhood, a bit tucked away but we like it that way. We do catering for people around here, mostly just simple meals and local dishes that people are used to eating. It’s a family-style operation, really. We spend most of our hours in the kitchen, making sure the sambar is right and the rice is fluffy. Being at No 15A means we’ve seen the neighborhood change over the years, but our work stays pretty much the same. It's about waking up, getting the fresh produce, and starting the burners. There’s always washing up to do and boxes to pack. We don’t have a fancy storefront or a big marketing team. It’s just us and our pots and pans. Sometimes the street gets a bit crowded with parked scooters, but we manage to get our deliveries out. People know us by word of mouth mostly. We just focus on the food and making sure there’s enough for everyone who ordered. It’s hard work, especially in the heat, but we’re used to it by now. Just a local business trying to stay busy and keep the kitchen running smoothly every day of the week. We aren't trying to be the biggest place in Chennai, just a reliable one for the folks on Jayammal Street.
