Cakes N Bakes

You can find us at Number 19 and 20 on Thiruvalluvar Koil Street in Mylapore. We are right in the heart of Chennai, which is a place full of history and busy streets. Being near the temple means there are always people walking by. Our shop is a bit small, but it’s where all the baking happens. It can get quite warm inside when the ovens are going, especially in the Chennai humidity. We spend our mornings getting everything ready and the smell of fresh bread usually fills the street. It’s a very local feel here. We know the people who live on the street and they often stop in to say hello. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us working behind the counter and in the kitchen. The shop floor is simple and we keep it clean. We’ve been in Mylapore for a while and it’s a good community to be a part of. Sometimes the street gets blocked by festivals, but that’s just life in this part of town. We just keep doing what we do every day. It’s a lot of hard work and long hours, but we like it. We are just a regular local bakery. The floor is a bit worn from all the feet coming in, but we don't mind.
