British Telecoms

We are working out of an office on 4th Cross Street in Chennai. The pin code for this area is 600030. It’s a typical street in this part of India, always full of life and a fair amount of noise from the traffic. We represent British Telecoms here, but our daily life is far from corporate glamour. We have our desks, our headsets, and our computer screens. The office is a functional space meant for getting things done. We spend a lot of time on calls and coordinating various technical tasks. It’s a lot of typing and staring at data. Chennai weather being what it is, the air conditioning is a necessity we can't do without. Finding a place to park your scooter on 4th Cross Street can be a real struggle in the mornings. We usually just grab a quick lunch from one of the small eateries nearby. There isn't much in the way of decoration in the office—maybe a few calendars on the wall. We don't have a mission or a grand vision we talk about. We just log in, do the work that’s assigned to us, and log out. Some of us have been here for years, while others are just starting out. It’s a mixed bunch of people. We try to keep things simple and just handle the work as it comes. It’s a steady pace and it suits us fine.
