Brick Industries

Being located on Poonamallee High Road in Aminijikarai means we deal with a lot of noise and traffic every single day. Brick Industries is tucked away at number 687/13, right in the middle of all that city hustle. It is a different world once you step inside the yard. We have stacks of bricks piled high, waiting to be sent out to different construction sites across the city. The space is a bit tight because of where we are, so we have to be really organized with how we park the trucks. It is a lot of coordination. Most of us have worked here for years and we know the rhythm of the road outside. We don't spend money on fancy advertisements. Usually, people just see our sign while they are stuck in traffic and decide to stop in to ask about prices. The office is small and usually has a thin layer of dust on everything, no matter how much we clean. We deal with all sorts of people, from big contractors to guys just looking for a few bricks to fix a garden path. We treat everyone the same and just get on with the business of moving heavy stuff around. It is tiring work and the humidity can be a lot sometimes, but we are used to it. We just keep the gates open and wait for the next delivery to arrive. It’s noisy and dusty but it’s our daily life here on the high road.
