Bismi Bricks

We are down here at 789 Anderson Road in Ayanavaram, right in the middle of Chinna Chembarambakkam. Most days start early before the sun gets too high because the heat can be brutal. Bismi Bricks isn’t some big fancy corporation with people in suits. It’s just us and the yard full of red dust. My clothes are usually covered in it by ten in the morning. We spend most of our time stacking and moving bricks around. It’s heavy work, and our backs feel it by the end of the week. People from around the neighborhood stop by to check on their orders or just to chat while we load up the trucks. The noise from the road is constant, but you get used to it after a while. We don’t have a big office, just a small corner where we keep the books and take calls. Sometimes the trucks get delayed in traffic, which is frustrating for everyone, but that’s just how it goes in this part of town. We try to keep things simple and just focus on getting the bricks ready for whoever needs them. It’s a repetitive job, day in and day out, but there’s something about seeing a full load go out that feels right. We’ve been at this address for a good bit now, and most folks know where to find us if they need a hand with building something.
