Our place, Mahalakshmi Tools & Machinery Pvt. Ltd., is out in Vellanoor at Shri Bharathy Nagar. We are at Door No. 47, covering Plot No. 318 to 322. It is quite a big space because we have a lot of heavy equipment and tools stored here. Being near Vellech Engineering College means we see a lot of students walking by or stopping at the local shops. The road out here can get a bit dusty when the wind picks up. We’ve got the warehouse area and a small office space where we handle the billing and the phone calls. The shelves are filled with all sorts of metal parts and machinery components. It smells a bit like oil and iron inside, which is expected for this kind of business. We’ve been here for several years and have seen the college grow bigger. Sometimes it’s hard to find specific tools in the back if we haven't organized things lately, but we usually know where everything is. We have a couple of old chairs in the front for when people come by to pick up an order. It’s a steady kind of life. We start early in the morning before it gets too hot and try to get most of the heavy lifting done by noon. It’s a practical business in a growing part of Vellanoor. We have some heavy metal pieces sitting out in the yard that have been there for months.
