We are located on the second floor of a building on Khan Street. If you know Choolaimedu, you know it's a tight squeeze with all the narrow shops and people moving around. Being near Nungambakkam Railway Station helps a lot because most of the people come in by train from other parts of the city. The stairs up to our office are a bit narrow and steep, so you have to be careful when you’re carrying a heavy bag of books. Inside, it’s mostly just rows of desks and a lot of study material for the lab assistant exams. It’s very specific work that we do here. We don't talk about much else besides the government posts and what the exam papers looked like last year. People come here because they want a steady government job for their future. It’s relatively quiet inside compared to the street noise outside. We have some old posters on the walls and a clock that ticks a bit too loud when everyone is silent. The lights are quite bright because we spend a lot of time reading small print in manuals and textbooks. Sometimes the water cooler runs out and one of the staff has to go down to the street to get a new jar. It’s just how things go in a small office. There isn't a lot of fluff or decoration here. We just sit down, open the books, and try to learn what's needed. Most of the students are quite serious about it.
