Bharathi Engineering Industries

Bharathi Engineering Industries is located at No. 5 on 1St Reddy Street in Ekkatturhangal. It’s an industrial sort of area with lots of workshops and noise. Our building is basically a large shed with high ceilings and heavy machines bolted to the floor. There is always the sound of metal hitting metal or the hum of a lathe running in the background. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, especially when the machines have been running since morning. We do a lot of small-scale engineering work, turning parts or cutting metal to specific sizes. Our hands stay dirty most of the day from the oil and the metal shavings that get everywhere. You have to watch your step because there are always pieces of scrap on the ground. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing team. Most people find us because they need something fixed or made and someone else told them to come to Ekkatturhangal. We have a small desk in the corner where we keep the invoices and drawings, but most of the time we are out on the floor. It’s not a quiet job and it can be tiring on the back, but it’s what we know how to do. We’ve been at this spot for a long time and the neighborhood has seen a lot of changes, but the work stays the same. The machines keep humming along and we just keep the production moving.
