Better Homes

Better Homes is a small group of us working out of J B Mansion in Chennai. You can find us at No 12 on Subramania Chetty Street. It’s one of those narrow streets that gets pretty packed during the day, especially when the weather is typical for Tamil Nadu. We’ve been in this building for a bit now. It isn't a modern glass tower or anything like that, just a regular place where we can sit and do our work without being bothered. We mostly look at houses and help people figure out their living situations. Sometimes the office gets a bit dusty because of the construction nearby, but we keep the fans going and it’s fine. We don't really do much advertising or have big signs outside. Most people who come to see us just know the address or saw our name on the board at the entrance. It’s a bit cramped inside with all the files and folders we’ve piled up over the years, but we know where everything is. Lunch is usually someone bringing a tiffin or grabbing something from the stalls down the street. It’s a decent life here in Chennai. We stay busy enough to keep the lights on and the rent paid. We aren't fancy people, just a team that shows up every morning, drinks some tea, and gets to work on whatever is on the desk that day. It’s honest work and we like being part of this old neighborhood and seeing the city change around us.
