We are based in Mylapore, which is one of those parts of Chennai that has its own soul. Our office is on 2nd Street, specifically number 3, right off Dr. Radha Krishnan Salai. It’s a good spot to be. Ashvita Restaurants has been around for some time, and this is where all the planning and the boring behind-the-scenes stuff happens. Everyone knows the main road is busy, but our little street is tucked away just enough. Running restaurants isn't just about the food people see on the plates. There is a lot of management involved, from hiring staff to sorting out the kitchen supplies. We spend a lot of time here at the office doing exactly that. It’s a lived-in space, with papers everywhere and the sound of someone always typing or talking on the phone. We aren't some massive chain with a shiny headquarters. We're just people who love the food scene in Chennai. Sometimes we have meetings that go on too long, and we end up just ordering tea and continuing. It’s a bit messy sometimes, but that’s the reality of the hospitality business. We keep track of everything from this Mylapore base. The walls have a few posters and old menus pinned up. It feels like home to us. We’re just trying to keep the kitchens running and the customers coming back. It's a lot of juggling but it keeps us on our toes.
