This office is located in Saidapet, Chennai, inside the Great Lakes Institute of Management building on South Mada Street. It’s in Sri Nagar Colony, which is a fairly busy part of the city. We deal with ship management, so there is a lot of talk about vessels and crews. It’s a lot of paperwork and computer work. The office atmosphere is just like any other place where people are busy with their tasks. We see students from the institute walking around all the time. Chennai weather is usually humid, so we stay indoors most of the day. We have to coordinate with people in different time zones sometimes. It’s not a typical nine-to-five job because ships are always moving. We eat lunch at the local spots nearby. The traffic on South Mada Street can be quite a headache in the evenings. We just keep our heads down and do the work that’s required for the ships. There are files everywhere about maintenance and schedules. It’s a lot of responsibility but we just take it one day at a time. The building is easy to find if you are in the Saidapet area. We've been here for a while and the routine is pretty much set. We just make sure everything is handled correctly. It’s a lot of back and forth with the ports. Sometimes the phones don't stop ringing when a ship is docking. We just deal with it and move on to the next file.
