Our street is right by the temple, so there’s always a bit of a crowd and the sound of bells or music in the background. We operate out of a relatively small building that’s been there for years. Inside, it’s mostly storage and a few desks where we manage the business. We deal with various goods and enterprises, so there’s a lot of coming and going. The heat in Chennai can be pretty brutal, so we usually have the fans on high and keep the door open a bit to let the breeze in, though it mostly just lets in the street noise. It’s a family-style atmosphere here, where everyone knows each other’s business and we share lunch most days. We aren't some big high-rise corporation. We are just a local business trying to keep things moving and making sure our customers get what they need. Sometimes the narrow streets make it hard for deliveries to reach us, so we end up hauling boxes by hand from the main road. It’s hard work, but it’s what we do.
