Adhavan Foods

Down at No 4 on Kalaingar Street in Varatharajapuram, things stay pretty busy for us at Adhavan Foods. We are located in Nazarathpet which is part of the larger Poondamallee area. If you know the streets around here you know it’s a lot of local families and small businesses just trying to get through the day. We spend most of our time dealing with the food items and making sure everything is packed up right. The sun can get quite hot in Poondamallee especially in the afternoons but we keep the fans going and stay on task. It is a straightforward business without any bells or whistles. We handle a lot of different things throughout the week and it keeps us on our toes. Sometimes the deliveries arrive late because of the traffic on the main road but we just deal with it as it comes. It’s a humble setup really. The building isn’t new but it’s sturdy and serves our purpose well enough. We see a lot of the same delivery drivers and local folks coming by. There’s a certain rhythm to life on Kalaingar Street that you only understand if you spend time here every day. We aren't trying to change the world or anything like that. We just want to do our jobs and go home to our families at the end of the shift. It’s hard work but it’s what we know how to do.
