Shri Andal Alagar College

Our college is situated right on the G.S.T. Road in Kanchipuram. If you’ve traveled through Tamil Nadu, you know how busy that stretch of road gets. Number 6 is where we spend most of our waking hours. It’s a typical scene every morning with buses pulling up and students scurrying inside before the gates close. The heat in Kanchipuram is something we all just deal with; you get used to the humidity after a while. We have a mix of staff who have been here for years and some newer faces too. Inside, the floors are usually swept clean by the morning, but by midday, there is plenty of evidence of a busy day. It’s not like those high-tech offices you see in movies. We have solid walls, simple benches, and a lot of paper records tucked away in steel cupboards. Sometimes the noise from the traffic outside drifts into the classrooms, but we just talk a little louder. We don't spend much time on decorations or fancy signs. Most of the people here are just focused on getting their classes done and making sure the students follow the rules. When the workday ends, we all head out into the Kanchipuram traffic ourselves. It is a very straightforward kind of life here at the college. We aren't looking to impress anyone with big words; we just do our jobs and go home. It feels like a normal part of the local community.
