Lakshimiammal Vidyasaram

Lakshimiammal Vidyasaram is situated at No.95 on Car Street in Madurantakam. If you know this part of Kanchipuram, you know that Car Street is a very lively place, especially during the local festivals. Our school is right in the heart of all that activity. The building we are in is quite old and has a lot of history to it. Many people in this town actually went to school here themselves years ago. We have students coming in from all over the Madurantakam area every day. The routine never really changes much. The kids arrive in the morning, attend their classes, and head home in the evening. It is never quiet here, particularly when the children are out for their breaks. You can hear their voices all the way down the street. Our classrooms are very simple with just the basic furniture and boards. We do not have any expensive gadgets or modern designs. The staff works out of a small office that is usually buried under notebooks and attendance registers. Being on Car Street means we are right in the middle of everything that happens in town. We have been here at number 95 for a long time and we know almost everyone who passes by our gates. It is just a regular local school where we try to do our best for the children every day. The community is a big part of who we are.
