Singh Enterprise

If you head down into the basement at number 1167 in Sector 22, that’s where you’ll find Singh Enterprise. Being underground means we don't get much sunlight, but it stays a bit cooler during the harsh summer months. The stairs are a little steep so we have to be careful when we’re carrying boxes down. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze inside with all the shelves packed right up to the ceiling with stock. I usually have the radio playing softly in the corner to keep some noise going while I sort through invoices. Working in a basement has its own rhythm because you can’t really see the weather changing outside. You just see the feet of people walking past the small high windows. We’ve been in this specific spot for a long time and I’ve gotten used to the way the walls echo. Sometimes it gets a bit damp if it rains hard outside, so we keep everything on pallets just in case. It’s not a fancy office or a big store, just a practical workspace where we get things done. Most people who come here have been coming for years and they know exactly where the doorbell is. I spend a lot of time organizing the smaller items that tend to get lost in the back. It’s just me and occasionally a family member helping out with the heavier stuff. It’s a quiet life down here but we keep ourselves busy with the work every day.
