Padmawati Misthan Bhandar

Padmawati Misthan Bhandar is located at SCO 2 in the Sector 19 Main Bazar. Being in the main market means it’s always loud and there’s always someone walking by. Our shop is filled with large metal trays of sweets, from gulab jamuns to different kinds of barfi. We start early in the morning, getting the milk boiling and the sugar ready. The kitchen is in the back, and you can usually hear the clinking of pots throughout the day. It’s a traditional kind of place. We don't have fancy packaging or colorful ribbons unless it’s a holiday. Most of the time, we just wrap things in plain boxes and hand them over. The staff has been here for years, so they know the regulars and what they usually want without having to ask. It’s not the cleanest or the newest looking shop in the bazar, but we keep the food fresh and the prices fair. Sometimes the line gets a bit messy because people don't always wait their turn, but we try to manage it. We aren't trying to be a big chain or anything like that. We just like being part of the Sector 19 community. It’s a lot of hard work in a hot kitchen, but seeing the trays go empty by the end of the day makes it worth it. We just keep our heads down and keep the stoves going.
