Nanak Sweets

Our shop is over in Sector 19 D, right at Scf 45. The market here is always buzzing, and we are right in the thick of it. Every morning starts about the same, with the big vats of milk being brought in and the heat from the stove filling up the back room. We make all the standard sweets that people around here like for their tea or for taking to someone’s house. The counters are glass and we spend a lot of time wiping away fingerprints because kids are always pointing at what they want. It’s not a polished place, just a regular shop where the floors are a bit worn from all the feet walking over them. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything; we just put the trays out and people come in. Sometimes we get a bit behind on orders when there’s a big wedding nearby, and the whole place feels a bit chaotic. I usually have a cup of tea in the corner when things quiet down for a few minutes in the afternoon. The staff is mostly local guys who have been doing this for a long time. We know which sweets sell fast and which ones take a bit more time to prepare. It is a simple business, really. We just try to keep things fresh and make sure the shop is open on time every day. The morning fog often delays our fresh milk delivery a bit.
