Kamla

My address is 4040/G in Sector 37 and my name is Kamla. I have been in this block for many years now. It is one of those places where all the buildings look the same, so you have to be careful with the letters on the door. G block is where I am. It is a standard kind of place with a small kitchen and a room where I do my work. The walls are a pale yellow that I don't really like but I haven't gotten around to changing them. I wake up early and start my chores before sitting down to handle the business side of things. Sector 37 is a decent spot because it isn't too loud but you aren't too far from the market either. I usually walk to get my vegetables in the afternoon. My workspace is just a table with a lamp that has a wobbly base. I have to put a piece of folded paper under it to keep it straight. It is these little things that make the place feel like mine. Most days are the same, which is fine by me. I keep a calendar on the wall and mark off the days with a thick pen. People don't visit much unless they have a reason, so I get a lot of peace. The window looks out onto a small patch of grass that doesn't grow very well.
