Allianz Bajaj Life Insurance Co Ltd is located on the second floor of SCO 130-140 in Sector 8. To get to us, you have to walk up the stairs which can be a bit of a workout if you are doing it several times a day. The office is a bit more structured than a workshop, with rows of desks and people on computers. It is usually pretty bright inside because of the big windows, though the view is just of the parking lot and the shops across the way. We spend a lot of time on the phone or typing up forms for people who walk in. It’s not the most exciting work, but it’s important to the folks who come to see us. There is always a lot of talk about numbers and dates, and the printer is constantly spitting out documents. We have a small area where people can sit and wait, and there is a water cooler in the corner that gets a lot of use during the summer months. The staff here is a mix of people, some who have been here forever and some newer faces. We mostly just keep our heads down and get through the pile of paperwork on our desks. Sometimes it feels like we are drowning in forms, but we just take it one at a time. It’s a typical office environment in a busy part of Chandigarh, with the usual morning rush and evening wind-down.
