Happy Catering And Tent House

Down on Veera Desai Road in Manimajra, you’ll find our place. Happy Catering and Tent House is a bit of a mix. We have the big cooking pots in one area and the folded-up tents in another. It’s usually a bit chaotic because there’s always an event somewhere. One day we are loading up stoves and the next it’s chairs and tables. The smell of spices often hangs around the office because the kitchen staff is prepping something. We started this because we liked being part of the local celebrations. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and late nights, especially during the wedding season. The yard is usually full of vans and workers moving crates around. We don't have a big fancy office, just a desk where we write down the dates and requirements in a big ledger book. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook and other times it’s quiet enough to hear the traffic on Veera Desai Road. We’ve had some of the same cooks for years now, and they know exactly how much salt goes into a giant pot of daal. It’s a family-run thing, and we all pitch in where needed. If the tent crew is short-handed, I’ll go out and help drive the stakes into the ground myself. It's just hard, honest work to make sure someone's party goes okay. We sometimes run out of sugar, but there is a shop right next door.
