Dhillon Tent House

It stays pretty busy here at Shop No-777/4 in Govind Pura, especially when the wedding season kicks in. We are right near the community centre in Mani Majra, so there is always something going on nearby. Most days at Dhillon Tent House start with us checking the inventory and making sure the fabric isn’t torn from the last job. We have stacks of iron poles and heavy rolls of colored cloth piled up in the back. It’s not a fancy office, just a practical space where we get the work done. You will usually find someone loading a truck or mending a seam on a canopy. The weather is something we always have to watch because a sudden wind can mess up a whole setup. We spend a lot of time on our feet, dragging chairs and heavy carpets around. It gets dusty and the work is hard on the hands, but it’s what we do. People from the neighborhood drop by to talk about their upcoming family events, and we sit down with a register to write everything down. The phone rings a lot with folks asking about dates. Sometimes the shop is a bit cluttered with decorations waiting to be sorted, but we know where everything is. We just focus on getting the tents up straight and making sure the lighting works before the guests show up. It’s simple work, mostly about showing up on time and hauling gear.
