Ashoka Engineering Works

You can find Ashoka Engineering Works over at Plot No 3222/1 in Sector-41/D. We are pretty close to Anchal School, so we hear the kids at recess sometimes. The shop is a bit cramped because we have a lot of machinery squeezed into the space. We’ve been doing this kind of work for years, mostly machining parts and doing repairs for local folks. There’s usually a thin layer of oil on the floor and the smell of cut metal in the air. We don't have any fancy brochures or a marketing team. It’s just me and a couple of assistants. We work with our hands and try to make things that last. Sometimes a job takes longer than we thought because the machine acts up or the material isn't right, but we stay until it’s done. The lighting isn't the best in the back, but we know our way around the shop. We get a lot of walk-ins from the neighborhood. People know they can just come in and ask us to look at something. It’s a humble setup, but it’s what we know. We don't pretend to be more than a local engineering shop. We’ve had the same neighbors for a decade, and we all help each other out. It's noisy and messy, but it’s our life. We just want to do decent work and go home tired at the end of the day. It’s not always easy, but it’s satisfying for us.
